Pool service basics
How often should a pool be cleaned?
Once a week, minimum, for a Texas pool. Summer heat burns chlorine off fast enough that an every-other-week schedule is where most green pools start.
How much does pool service cost per month?
A flat monthly rate based on pool size, spa and water features, and the condition of the water at the start. We quote the exact rate before the first visit.
What does a pool cleaning service include?
Skimming and netting, emptying the skimmer and pump baskets, brushing walls and tile, filter care on schedule, a complete water chemistry test, and an equipment check, plus a text report after each visit.
Is it cheaper to clean my own pool?
You save the monthly fee and spend it on time, test kits, and chemicals. One missed week in summer can cost more in recovery than months of service. Weekly service also catches small equipment problems before they become repair bills.
Water chemistry and cleaning
How often should pool water be tested?
At least weekly, and more often in heavy use or extreme heat. We test free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, stabilizer, and calcium hardness on every visit and adjust the water back into range.
What are the ideal pool chemistry levels?
Free chlorine 1 to 3 ppm, pH 7.4 to 7.6, total alkalinity 80 to 120 ppm, cyanuric acid 30 to 50 ppm, calcium hardness 200 to 400 ppm. Holding those keeps water safe, clear, and easy on plaster and equipment.
Why is my pool cloudy?
Usually out-of-balance chemistry, a dirty filter, or weak circulation. We test, correct the chemistry, service the filter, and confirm the pump runs long enough to clear it.
Green pools and seasons
How do you fix a green pool?
Balance the water, shock it, run the filter around the clock, and brush and vacuum out the dead algae over several days. That is our green to clean service, and once the water clears, weekly service keeps it that way.
How long does green to clean take?
Most pools clear in two to five days depending on how far gone the algae is. Severe cases or very old water can need a partial drain. Recovery is quoted separately from weekly service.
Do Texas pools need service in winter?
Yes. Chemistry still drifts, debris still lands, and a hard freeze can crack a pump overnight if the system is not set to protect itself. Winter service protects the equipment as much as the water.
Remodeling
When is a remodel worth it over repairs?
When the same problems keep coming back: rough plaster, stained finish, cracked coping, equipment that fails every season. One scoped remodel usually beats years of patch bills, and it is quoted in writing so you can compare directly.
Do you remodel pools you do not service?
Yes. Plenty of remodel customers come to us just for the rebuild. Many stay for weekly service afterward because the start-up and cure are already in our hands.
